Camp in Motion at Dell Children's

Camp in Motion is an adaptive sports camp for children with physical limitations, such as mild to moderate cerebral palsy (GMFCS Level I, II, and III), post-stroke, or other physical challenges. Your child will participate in a variety of adaptive sports group activities, swimming, and dancing while making new friends and having fun in an inclusive environment. Camp is led by Dell Children’s pediatric physical, occupational, and speech therapists and YMCA program team members.

A prescription including a diagnosis of physical limitation is required for medical clearance before attending camp. Campers should have reasonable use of at least one arm and can follow directions at preschool level or higher. We offer three camps based on your child’s age and whether or not a communication device is used.

  • Covering camp costs

The cost of camp can be submitted to most health insurance plans or paid out-of-pocket. A prescription is required for medical clearance regardless of payment method.

If paying by insurance: Provide the following billing codes to your provider for verification of coverage: CPT Code 97161, 97162, 97163, 97150. Insurance companies have different expiration requirements for prescriptions, but most are around 30 days. Campers submitting costs through insurance MUST complete a pre-camp evaluation (virtual or in-person) at least 2 weeks prior to their camp experience to ensure insurance authorization is in place. Important: Current therapies need to be put on hold during camp. Should you wish to continue physical, occupational or speech therapy through your current provider, please communicate this with our team in advance.

If paying out-of-pocket: Individuals who do not wish to use camper’s insurance to cover camp may pay a cash rate of $765 per week.
