Simply safetyThe childhood injury prevention team at Simply Safety Center at Dell Children’s Medical Center provides safety information and low cost safety items for families in Central Texas. Our team goes beyond traditional safety measures – offering specialized guidance in child passenger safety, bike safety, water safety, home safety, and sleep safety. From personalized consultations and hands-on training, to providing low-cost safety items, we are committed to empowering parents with the knowledge and tools to create safe environments for their little ones.

Safety services

Kids in Cars - car seat installation and inspection

Help ensure your child's safety on the road by having your child’s car seat inspected by a certified child passenger safety technician. Our experienced technicians provide personalized inspections by appointment. During the inspection, we make sure your child’s car seat is properly installed and securely fits your child. Learn more.

Helmet fitting instruction

Our safety team can help you find the right helmet for your child. The Simply Safety Center has a wide range of helmets available for purchase. Our team can help you find one that fits your child and their needs. We offer helmet adjustment and fitting with every purchase. If your child already has a helmet, you can bring it in to be fitted for your child. We recommend replacing bike helmets every three years.

Life jacket fitting instruction

Life jackets are not a one-size-fits-all device. Our team can help you find the appropriate sized life jacket for your child. If your child does not know how to swim or is not a strong swimmer it is best practice to wear a life jacket. Texas law requires children under 13 years old to wear life jackets on boats. The Simply Safety Center offers infant, child, and youth size jackets.

Outpatient special needs car seat consultation (by referral only)

Our care team is trained to work with children who require special transportation needs for various medical situations and conditions. A special needs car seat consultation can be arranged by appointment with our technicians. This consultation helps you determine what type of special needs adaptive seat works best for your child's situation. Referral form.

Our goal is to provide safety equipment and resources at the lowest cost to remove financial barriers that keep families from purchasing these safety devices. Resources and equipment available for purchase include:

Bounce Benefit Program

In an effort to minimize financial barriers related to these safety devices, the Simply Safety Center provides a discount program for eligible customers. This offer considers the family size, monthly income and calculates a discount using federal poverty scales. Interested families may complete an application in the Simply Safety Center to determine if they are eligible for the bounce benefit discount. If eligible, the bounce benefit may provide an additional discount of 10-50%.

Dell Children’s Health Plan Members - Added Benefit Voucher Program

The Simply Safety Center currently honors Dell Children’s Health Plan Member vouchers at both locations. Members are encouraged to contact the Simply Safety Center prior to coming to the Center to determine if inventory is available.
