Pediatric mental health care

Your doctor works with your family to create a care plan that meets your child's needs. At Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital, we offer a range of pediatric mental health care:

Individual therapy: Your child meets one-on-one with a pediatric mental health specialist. Individual therapy can start and end at any time, depending on your child’s needs.

Family therapy: Pediatric mental health therapists meet with your child and family. This type of therapy helps family members understand their child’s behavior and needs.

Full or partial hospitalization: Children who have emotional, behavioral or psychiatric difficulties, or who are at risk for self-harm, can benefit from full or partial hospitalization. During this time, our specialists work closely with your child and family to help improve their emotional well-being.

Alcohol and drug dependence program: If your teen has an alcohol or drug addiction, our pediatric specialists offer inpatient and outpatient rehabilitative care.

Group therapy: In group therapy, your child will attend therapy sessions with children who share the same mental health condition, such as anxiety or depression.

Medication management: For some mental health conditions, your child’s doctor may recommend medication as part of their care plan. Medications may help reduce symptoms of mental health conditions such as depression or OCD.
