Multidisciplinary pediatric heart care

At Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital, your child’s care is coordinated with their referring doctor and other care team members. And because each child has unique needs, your child’s care plan is personalized for your child and family.

Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital in Indianapolis includes a dedicated pediatric cardiac catheterization lab and a pediatric intensive care unit (PICU). Cardiovascular surgeons, heart specialists, pediatric anesthesiologists, and other pediatric specialists deliver 24/7 care for children with heart conditions and those recovering from surgery.

If you have a newborn with a heart condition, we're here for you and your baby. Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital in Indianapolis has one of the largest NICUs in Indiana and one of the largest pediatric cardiology programs in the state. If your child has a pediatric heart condition and surgery is recommended, a surgeon with the right expertise will be part of your care team. Our pediatric cardiac surgeons provide surgical care for babies born early (premature) and newborns.

Surgical care for congenital heart disease

For children of all ages with congenital heart disease, our experienced care teams deliver personalized, advanced heart care. Pediatric cardiothoracic surgeons have expertise in repairing congenital heart conditions in children. Your child and family are connected to advanced surgical care at Peyton Manning Children's Hospital in Indianapolis. This includes imaging, ECMO, pediatric catheterization labs, heart surgery and recovery — all in one place. And for children with heart rhythm disorders, we have a team dedicated to implanting and monitoring pacemakers. We use telehealth technology to monitor your child's pacemaker from wherever you are.

Dr. Roosevelt Bryant III is joining Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital at Ascension St. Vincent as the chief of pediatric and congenital heart surgery to enhance pediatric cardiology services in the Indianapolis region.  Bryant said he welcomes this opportunity because of the commitment of Ascension St. Vincent and collaboration with Cincinnati Children’s to provide the highest-quality care for the patients they serve. Today, Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital provides the highest level of pediatric surgical care, designated as a Level 1 Children’s Surgery Center. It has one of the largest pediatric cardiology programs in Indiana. Families also are supported by one of the largest neonatal intensive care units in Indiana, and its care teams handle the most complex cases involving babies and mothers through its pediatric Level 4 perinatal center.
