Your child’s heart care is our priority. Our heart doctors and cardiac nurses start by listening to you, to better understand your child and their health. Then, we work with you to create a care plan that’s right for your child. As part of their care plan, we support you and provide education so you can better understand your child’s heart condition.
Our pediatric cardiovascular team delivers advanced specialty care, including non-surgical and surgical heart care. We care for pediatric heart conditions, including:
- Arrhythmia and other irregular heartbeats
- Atrial septal defect (ASD), also known as a hole in the heart

- 3D imaging of the heart to treat heart arrhythmias
- Cardiac surgery for structural heart damage
- Electrocardiograms (ECG)
- Interventional catheterization
- Medications
- Pacemaker implantation Ambulatory ECG (Holter monitor) and patient-activated cardiac event recorders Exercise testing Tilt table testing (for patients prone to fainting)
Advanced cardiac surgery for babies, children and teens
State-of-the-art technologies available to support the surgical program include:
- Nitric oxide to treat pulmonary hypertension

- Extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO)
The specialists at Peyton Manning Children's - Indianapolis Pediatric Heart Care are ready to deliver advanced pediatric heart care. Our facility includes a dedicated pediatric cardiac catheterization lab and a pediatric intensive care unit (PICU). Cardiovascular surgeons, heart specialists, pediatric anesthesiologists and other pediatric specialists deliver around the clock care for children with heart conditions and who are recovering from surgery.
If you have a newborn with a heart condition, we're here for you and your baby. We have the largest newborn ICU in Indiana and one of the largest pediatric cardiology programs in the state. If your child's heart condition requires surgery, our pediatric cardiac surgeons are trained in surgery for babies born early and newborns.
