Pediatric oncologists and hematologists have the expertise to diagnose and treat even the most complex cancers and blood disorders. Your Dell Children’s doctor uses advanced tests and imaging to diagnose your child’s condition. Then, we work with a multispecialty team to create a care plan that is right for your child. Your child’s care plan may include a combination of chemotherapy, radiation or surgery.

Dell Children’s Blood and Cancer center is home to the only pediatric neuro-oncology clinic in Central Texas. So, families can get the advanced care they need close to home. A multidisciplinary team of experienced specialists diagnose, treat and care for children with brain and spine tumors. Pediatric oncologists work directly with your child’s neurologist and neurosurgeon to deliver the care that’s right for your child. And, we also help manage neurological complications related to pediatric cancer.

When a child has hemophilia, their blood does not clot or takes longer than normal to clot. With the right care, most children can live an active, healthy life. The Dell Children’s Blood and Cancer Center at Ascension Seton is a national hemophilia treatment center. We diagnose and treat children with bleeding and clotting disorders, such as hemophilia, von Willebrand disease and Factor V Leiden. Our multispecialty team of pediatric hematologists, researchers, physical therapists, dentists, social workers and child life specialists work together to deliver personalized care for your child. Depending on your child’s diagnosis, your child’s doctor may recommend a clinical trial as part of their care plan. Clinical trials may provide more options for treatment, especially when cancer is not responding to traditional treatments. As part of the Children's Oncology Group, a clinical trials group supported by the National Cancer Institute, your child has access to some of the most recent clinical trials available. And if your child is in school, our care teams help them balance their school assignments with their treatments and recovery care.
