Mental health care
When you’re having a baby, you experience a lot of emotions – excitement, anticipation, worry, anxiety. At Dell Children’s Comprehensive Fetal Care Center, psychologists are part of our care team. We provide emotional support for moms during pregnancy and postpartum.
A perinatal and reproductive psychiatrist provides counseling on the risks and benefits of medications during pregnancy and breastfeeding. They also prescribe and manage these medications.
If needed, social workers are also part of your care team. They can help moms process the grief, trauma, and worry that can come with complex pregnancies. And we connect you and your family to resources in the community if needed.
