Volunteering is a wonderful way to support the addiction recovery process. At Ascension Brighton Center for Recovery, many people donate their time to volunteer and help our patients who are in drug and alcohol addiction recovery. Volunteers generously contribute their time to make Ascension Brighton Center for Recovery a center of hope, healing and strength. They help motivate our patients every day and offer encouragement throughout the course of a stay here. We appreciate each and every one of our volunteers, and we know that they are a significant part of new beginnings for many families.
Hospital volunteering schedules are flexible, and you can commit to as little as one day a month.
“Having been a former patient, I wanted to be able to give back. Having the opportunity to volunteer here in the Gift Shop has given me the chance to do that. I have been clean for a year now, and volunteering here has been a huge part of my recovery. Being able to help other patients, tell them my story and show patients that you can stay clean and sober is a reward in itself,” says Amanda Sagert, who is part of Brighton’s Volunteer Pool.
This system of volunteer work builds trust, belief, and empowerment into the lives of participants; and it fosters community commitment and individual responsibility within the volunteers themselves.
