Volunteer requirements
With their contagious smiles, comforting presence and huge hearts – our volunteers make each Ascension sites of care in Illinois feel like home. Due to the nature of our work there are a number of requirements that all Ascension volunteers must meet. First you will need to complete a volunteer application and undergo a drug screen along with a two-step TB test. Next you will participate in a four-hour orientation and training session. Volunteers are also required to undergo annual TB testing and complete ongoing education initiatives. Uniforms are required any time you are volunteering. These requirements ensure that volunteers are well-prepared and dedicated to supporting the mission of Ascension sites of care in Illinois. Volunteer benefits
Active volunteers at Ascension sites of care in Illinois enjoy a wide range of wonderful benefits. Additionally, volunteers receive annual flu shots and have access to free blood pressure checks. We also offer a pharmacy discount with a doctor's prescription and have the option to purchase uniforms at minimal cost. Volunteers are invited to attend special luncheons and educational opportunities.
