Our volunteers perform duties that lighten the load of our staff, services for patient comfort. Thank you for your interest in volunteering. Volunteer requirements
With their contagious smiles, comforting presence and huge hearts – our volunteers make each Ascension Saint Thomas feel like home. Due to the nature of our work there are a number of requirements that all Ascension volunteers must meet. You must be at least 18 years of age or older. First you will need to complete a volunteer application and undergo a drug screen along with a two-step TB test. Next you will participate in a four-hour orientation and training session. Volunteers are also required to undergo annual TB testing and complete ongoing education initiatives. Uniforms are required any time you are volunteering. These requirements ensure that volunteers are well-prepared and dedicated to supporting the mission of Ascension Saint Thomas. Please review the "Immunization" requirements and "General" requirements for the location you are applying for, before submitting your application.
