Ascension St. Vincent Mercy volunteers donate their time and energy in an effort to make a patient's stay as comfortable as possible. Our volunteers perform duties that lighten the load of our staff, services for patient comfort. Thank you for your interest in volunteering. There isn’t a gift more generous, more compassionate or more appreciated than giving your time.
Volunteer requirements
With their contagious smiles, comforting presence and huge hearts – our volunteers make Ascension St. Vincent Mercy in Indiana feel like home. Due to the nature of our work there are a number of requirements that all Ascension volunteers must meet. First you will need to call 765-552-4743 to get information about volunteer opportunities. Next you will participate in orientation and a volunteer training. Uniforms are required any time you are volunteering. These requirements ensure that volunteers are well-prepared and dedicated to supporting the mission of Ascension St. Vincent Mercy in Indiana. Please review the "Immunization" requirements and "General" requirements for the location you are applying for, before submitting your application. If you are interested in volunteering, please submit a volunteer application to start the process.
Event volunteers
At each of our events, volunteers are of utmost importance. From the pre-planning to the event day, volunteers are utilized to assist in assuring a successful event. We have a lot of fun and in the end, a very rewarding day.
Volunteer opportunities
Front desk: Volunteers will greet patients, have them sign-in for registration and deliver items from one department to another.
Time commitment: 3.5 hour shifts.
Shifts available: Monday through Friday 7 a.m. -12 p.m. or 12 p.m. - 5 p.m.
Surgery desk: Volunteers to greet surgery patients and visitors.
Time commitment: 4 hour shifts.
Shifts available: Monday through Friday 7 a.m. -12 p.m. or 12 p.m. - 3 p.m.
