Women’s Recovery Programs

Ascension Brighton Center for Recovery, Brighton, Michigan, offers addiction treatment specifically for women.

Women have the option of a 30-day intensive inpatient recovery program and trauma and addiction intensive outpatient treatment. In each female-only therapy setting, every woman is empowered to freely address her struggle with substance use and assert her healing preferences. Together, we apply 12-step principles specific to women. You’ll learn coping and relaxation skills to help each other overcome the challenges faced by women who want to lead sober, productive lives. Our care team can also connect women with doctors and mental health professionals who can assist with overall health and well-being concerns.

We focus on how to manage challenges that can affect recovery from substance use, including:

  • Anger
  • Anxiety and stress
  • Body awareness
  • Boundary setting for safety and serenity
  • How to process difficult emotions (without attempts to uncover past memories)
  • How to set goals
  • Impact of past trauma that currently challenges one’s recovery
  • Lack of a support network
  • Poor family and friend relationships
  • Value clarification
