Pediatric Procedure Sedation Center at Studer Family Children’s Hospital
At Studer Family Children’s Hospital in Pensacola, our Pediatric Procedure Sedation Center provides child-focused sedation for certain imaging studies, diagnostic tests and procedures performed outside the operating room.
Sedation uses medication to help a child relax, remain comfortable or stay still during a test or procedure. Our pediatric care team develops a sedation plan based on each child’s age, health history, developmental needs and the procedure being performed.
Child life specialists may also help children and families prepare for the experience using age-appropriate education, comfort techniques and distraction.
