Dining

The cafeteria is open seven days a week. There are also restaurants and a coffee shop located on the first floor of Studer Family Children’s Hospital.

Ronald McDonald House and family room

The Ronald McDonald House, on the Ascension Sacred Heart Pensacola campus, provides short-term housing for families who have to travel to Pensacola to receive critical medical treatment for their child. Prior to admission, families can complete an online application to determine eligibility by visiting rmhc-nwfl.org. To inquire about availability, please call 850-477-2273.

In addition to the Ronald McDonald House on the Ascension Sacred Heart campus, the Ronald McDonald Family Room on the second floor of Studer Family Children’s Hospital is a place where families can sleep, eat, shower, do laundry, use a computer and relax while being only steps away from their child’s bedside. The family room includes three bedrooms and bathrooms, an open living room and dining room, full kitchen, shower room, laundry room, computer area, playroom for patients’ siblings, and a quiet room for families who may need privacy for processing a diagnosis or making a phone call.

Ronald McDonald Respite Care

Families not staying overnight can take a break from the hospital environment through the Ronald McDonald Respite Care Program. Families are welcome to use the common areas of the house, including the kitchen, courtyard, playground, living and dining areas. Respite care is available 8 a.m.-8 p.m., and families are welcome to visit for breakfast, lunch, dinner or snacks.

Chapel and Pastoral Care

Chaplains are available to provide spiritual care for children and families. The hospital’s chapel is located on the second floor of Ascension Sacred Heart Pensacola and is open 24/7. Families are welcome to use this room for prayer, meditation or quiet time. Mass is held at 11:30 a.m. each weekday, at 8 p.m. on Saturdays, and at 8 a.m. on Sundays.

Playroom for children and families

The playroom on the fourth floor of Studer Family Children’s Hospital is open for all patients during their time in the hospital. Siblings may use the playroom when accompanied by an adult and the patient they are visiting.

We also offer books, toys and games, which can be brought to the bedside if a child is unable to leave their room. DVDs and video games are available for checkout. Infant and toddler equipment such as mobiles, highchairs and wagons are available by asking any care team member.

Rooftop Healing Garden

The Rooftop Healing Garden is located on the fourth floor of Studer Family Children’s Hospital. The garden offers sweeping views of the community and provides a place of healing for children and family members.

Mother Seton Children’s Garden

Mother Seton Children’s Garden — next to the front entrance of Studer Family Children’s Hospital — is set up in pods, with shrubs, gazebos, benches and various playground equipment arranged to offer privacy and allow different groups to use the space at the same time, including patients’ families, pediatric rehabilitation patients, and seriously ill patients.

Part of our Mother Seton Children’s Garden includes a dog park, where both our adult and pediatric patients can come to reunite with their furry friends. The dog park includes benches to sit on and a water faucet to provide water for dogs.
