Hospital medicine at Studer Family Children’s Hospital

At Studer Family Children’s Hospital at Ascension Sacred Heart in Northwest Florida, experienced pediatric hospitalists are the center of your child’s care in the hospital. A hospitalist team oversees all of your child’s care 24/7 and co-manages care with other specialists. Pediatric hospitalists are pediatricians with additional training and expertise in hospital medicine. If your child is staying in the hospital, your child's pediatrician may work with one of our hospitalists to provide care.

Care while your child is in the hospital

Your hospitalist starts by listening to you and your child. Your child’s care plan is personalized to their needs, addressing the whole child – both physical and emotional health – while they are in the hospital. The hospitalist collaborates with your child’s specialists and keeps their pediatrician informed through medical records and discharge summaries. We make sure your child is receiving the right care and connects your family to resources in the hospital – such as imaging and labs, child life specialists, social workers and more.
