Advanced treatments for gynecologic cancer

At Ascension Seton, gynecologic oncologists collaborate with other highly trained members of the health care team to develop highly specialized surgical and therapeutic treatment plans, enhanced with our recovery care program. Each recovery pathway is personalized for different types of cancer treatments to help you reach your goals. Your care team may recommend and use advanced diagnostic procedures and treatments as part of your care plan, including but not limited to:

  • The use of advanced imaging techniques (e.g. CT, MRI, or PET CT)
  • Clinical trials
  • Germline testing (genetic testing that looks for inherited mutations in cancer-related genes)
  • Gynecologic surgery, such as hysterectomy (removing uterus)
  • Hormone therapy, chemotherapy and/or immunotherapy
  • Radiation therapy
  • Tumor genomic profiling

If your surgery may impact your ability to have children, you and your doctor will discuss all of your options and what they mean for you. Together we'll develop a care plan that is right for you.
