Advanced Directives
The care management team can help your complete an Advance Directive, a document that allows you to predetermine your treatment choices so they are available to the medical team when you are not able to communicate your own preferences.
Aromatherapy Options
At Ascension SE Wisconsin Hospital - St. Joseph Campus, many patients are offered aromatherapy, along with other traditional medicines, as an option in relieving nausea, fatigue or other nagging symptoms. Aromatherapy involves the use of pure essential oils to positively affect physical, emotional and mental health. Essential oils may be used to help with the management of symptoms including mood improvement, to relieve pain, nausea, fatigue or inflammation, calm and reduce anxiety or as an anti-viral.
If you or a loved one are a patient, please be sure to discuss with the attending nurse.

An ATM is located in the cafeteria on the first floor for your convenience.

Our cafeteria is conveniently located on the first floor. You will find a variety of made-to-order hot and cold items including entrees, sandwiches, sides and “grab-and-go” selections.

Monday through Friday, weekends and holidays
Full breakfast: 6:30 a.m. – 9:30 a.m.
Continental breakfast: 9:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.
Lunch service: 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
Light lunch: 2:00 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. (“grab-and-go” soup, salad and deli bar)
Guest meals may also be ordered through room service. Please ask your patient’s caregiver.

Our care management staff is available on each hospital unit to help create a safe discharge plan in collaboration with the physicians and nursing staff.
Care Management staff can help make arrangements for:

- Rehabilitation
- Home infusion
- Hospice
- Skilled nursing care
The Care Management team can help you complete an Advance Directive. An Advance Directive is a document that allows you to determine your treatment choices when you are not able to communicate your own preferences. Chapel
Stop in this quiet, contemplative environment for personal reflections and prayer. Our chapel is located on the first floor, just off of our main lobby on Chambers Street.
Communication Services
Deaf & Hard-of-Hearing
St. Joseph offers around-the-clock communication services to the deaf and hard-of-hearing through the use of a TDD, sometimes referred to as a TTY.
Interpreter
St. Joseph is committed to offering high quality interpreter services for our deaf and limited-English speaking patients and their families. Screened and trained medical interpreters help our providers perform their job and make sure our patients receive excellent care.
Gift Shop
Located on the ground floor near the main lobby and pharmacy, our Gift Shop has many unique gift items including:
- Willow Tree® figurines
- Jewelry by Annaleece
- Women’s accessories: handbags, scarves, and more
- Baby gifts: clothing to teddy bears
- Personal care items, greeting cards, and balloons are also available
The gift shop offers shopping by phone for floral or any other requests for delivery to patients and employees. Stop in or call – the staff is happy to meet your shopping needs!

Gifts and Deliveries
- You can send packages, mail, plants or flowers to a patient in most units. If you want to bring food or beverages to a patient, please check with the nurse.
- Live plants and flowers are not allowed in our Critical Care Unit.
- If you want to bring balloons, only Mylar (non-latex) balloons are allowed. Please check with the nurse about any other gifts.
- Mail received after the patient is discharged will be forwarded to the patient’s home.
Internet Service
Wireless Internet access is available in the hospital for those with mobile and personal computer devices.
Notary Public
If notary public services are needed, please contact your nurse or social worker.
Parking
Valet Parking
St. Joseph Campus offers valet parking at the main entrance on Chambers Street for $1, payable upon arrival, Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Non-Valet Parking
- Find free, self-parking also in the hospital-operated parking structure between 51st and 52nd Streets. A small parking lot is also near our Emergency Department entrance on Burleigh Street.
- Limited short-term parking is available on streets surrounding the hospital.
If desired, security staff will escort you to your car, whether you are parked in the parking structure or on the street. They also will help visitors who have car trouble. Call extension 2154 to arrange for these services.
Pharmacy
For your convenience, a full-service, outpatient pharmacy is here at St. Joseph Campus.Located in the main lobby on Chambers Street, the pharmacy fills prescriptions, offers an automated scrip center, and also carries some over-the-counter medications.

Room Service
Meals at Your Request
Wholesome, nourishing, heart-healthy meals are an important part of your treatment and recovery. Our executive chefs are proud to offer the “At Your Request” room service program. This dining program allows you to select your meal from a menu designed to make you feel as though you were eating at home or at a favorite restaurant.
A registered dietitian is available to provide you and your family with nutrition education and support.
Telephones
Telephones are provided in each room. All local calls are free of charge. Long distance calls can be made by calling collect or by using a calling card.
Cellular and digital phone use is permitted in patient care areas, but must remain a minimum of three feet from medical equipment.
You may notice nursing staff using a portable phone on the nursing floors. These devices are different than a cellular or digital phone and are used as a part of their work routine. These portable phones pose no risk to medical devices.
Television and Radio
Television and radio services are offered for your entertainment and convenience. If patients have significant hearing impairments, you can request closed-captioning at no additional charge.
Vending Machines
Find snacks and beverages in the vending machines in the cafeteria on the first floor, available 24 hours a day.
Waiting Areas
We created specially designed lounge areas for visitors on each patient floor, in the main lobby, and in special units such as the Critical Care Unit, Emergency Department, Family Birth Center, and Surgery Department.
Wheelchair Service
You can use your wheelchair in the dining area or other areas if your condition allows it and someone is available to assist you.
