Ascension St. Vincent Mercy at 331 South A Street in Elwood, Indiana, is a critical access hospital with adult and pediatric beds. Our swing bed program has designated skilled nursing beds. The emergency services staff at Ascension St. Vincent Mercy is committed to compassionate care with providers who listen to understand. We offer an emergency room 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

The Surgery Center provides the latest technology and the technical skill of board-certified surgeons doing general surgery and laparoscopic procedures, including sinus surgery with platelet gel.  The Pre-Surgery Center coordinates all of the necessary testing. A peri-operative nurse educator will talk with you and get answers to your questions.

In conjunction with St. Vincent Anderson Regional, St. Vincent Mercy Hospital is an IOPO recognized organ transplant procurement site. A variety of medical specialists are onsite at St. Vincent Mercy on a daily basis. Medical imaging and diagnostic testing supports inpatient and outpatient care.

Recently, St. Vincent Mercy received two 5-star awards from PRC for excellence in transitions in care and educating patients about their medicines.

For acute, non-emergency illnesses, the St. Vincent Urgent Care nurse practitioner is available to treat colds, sore throats, urinary tract infections, influenza, minor sprains/strains, lacerations, minor burns and other minor illnesses and injuries.

The St. Vincent Mercy ER at 1331 South A Street, Elwood is open 24/7/365 days a year and provides exceptional emergency care. We also have an onsite helipad for rapid transportation to a tertiary center if needed.

  • Cardiac monitoring in every room
  • Peyton Manning pediatric specialty room for children
