Visiting Hours
Recommended visiting hours are 9 a.m. – 8 p.m. but are flexible to meet the unique needs and wishes of our patients. Patients have the right to decide who can and cannot visit them. Caregivers may also suggest limited hours due to the patient’s condition and physician’s recommendation. Please feel free to ask a caregiver if alternate visiting hours may be arranged.
Visiting Guidelines
We ask that visitors be respectful of the patient’s wishes as well as the confidentiality, privacy, and security of others. Anyone, including children, with a suspected communicable disease or obvious illness may be restricted from patient contact and patient areas.
Some patient rooms may be clearly labeled as “Isolation.” Please check at the nurses’ station on that floor for instructions before entering.
Other than service animals, such as a seeing-eye dog or licensed therapy pet, a physician’s order is required for pet visitation. If ordered, visits are limited to dogs and cats that are free of illness and kept leashed at all times. Please ask a caregiver if a pet visitation has been approved.
Ascension SE Wisconsin Hospital - Elmbrook Campus is a smoke-free campus. Smoking is not allowed anywhere on our property. This is in the best interest of our patients, staff, and community.
Waiting Areas
We have created specially designed lounge areas for visitors on each patient floor and in the main lobby. Specific waiting areas have been designated for families of patients in the Intensive Care Unit, the Emergency Department, Department of Surgery and Imaging Services.
