Diabetes management program
At Jane Phillips Healthy Lifestyles, we take a personalized approach to diabetes care. We start by listening to understand you and your concerns. Then, we work with you to create a care plan that is right for you. Care plans include:
- Education on the diabetes metabolic processes
- Individualized meal plan
- Medication instruction, including insulin titration
- Long-term complication risk reduction education
- Patient identified support plan
- Glucose monitoring training
- Affordable treatment options

Education sessions are taught by a registered nurse and registered dietitian, certified diabetes educators who use a combination of teaching, counseling, and lifestyle changes to help you learn to manage diabetes and enhance your quality of life. Together, your care team works with you to meet your needs and goals. Your care team also works with your doctor to provide support and help you manage your diabetes.

Weight management programs
Healthy Lifestyles offers two weight management programs – medical weight loss and surgical weight loss.
Medical weight loss
Working with your doctor, your registered dietitian will help you lose weight using non-surgical methods, including:.
- Supportive group sessions every 2 weeks
- Nutrition and physical activity training
- Recommendations for obesity medications and eliminating medications that may cause weight gain
Surgical weight loss
Our bariatric surgeons and weight management care teams know how difficult it can be to lose weight. Ascension St. John offers surgical weight loss programs at both Ascension St. John Medical Center in Tulsa and Ascension St. John Jane Phillips in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. From diet and exercise to surgery and recovery, we’re here with you every step of the way.

Insurance coverage
Medicare and most insurance plans cover costs for diabetes education and nutritional counseling. Check with your insurance provider for more information. Coverage for weight loss programs may or may not be covered. Call your insurance provider to learn more about coverage for treatment for obesity, including obesity medications or surgery. A doctor referral is required for all programs.
