Five-Star Quality Rating from CMS

Ascension St. John Broken Arrow was recently awarded a five-star rating, the highest achievement level possible, from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). Of the more than 3,300 hospitals evaluated nationwide by CMS, only 455 received a five-star rating. The hospital rating summarizes a variety of measures across seven areas of quality – including safety of care, effectiveness of care, and patient experience – into a single star rating for each hospital.

TMF Hospital Quality Improvement Silver Award

Ascension St. John Broken Arrow received a TMF Hospital Quality Improvement Silver Award. TMF is the Texas Medical Foundation, a CMS quality improvement organization. This award recognizes hospitals in Arkansas, Missouri, Oklahoma and Texas. Out of 557 hospitals only 50 hospitals received the Silver Award.

St. John Broken Arrow earned a “High Performing” rating in Hip and Knee Replacements, in recognition of care that was significantly better than the national average, as measured by factors such as patient outcomes. “High Performing” is the highest rating U.S. News awards for hip and knee replacement care.
