Diagnosis and treatment for behavioral health conditions

Our behavioral health specialists start by listening to you and your concerns. Your care team is here to listen and connect you with the level of support that’s right for you. We meet you where you are—with therapy sessions, outpatient care, and inpatient programs. Treatment options we provide include:

Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT)

ECT is a psychiatric treatment in which seizures are electrically induced in patients to provide relief from mental disorders. It involves passing small electric currents through the brain, intentionally triggering a brief seizure. This is done under general anesthesia and with muscle relaxants to minimize discomfort and risks. ECT is considered safe and effective, especially for people who haven't found relief from medications or therapy. Side effects can include short-term memory loss, confusion after treatment, and physical side effects like headache or muscle aches.

ECT is used to treat:

• Bipolar disorder (particularly depressive or manic episodes)

• Catatonia

• Schizophrenia (in some cases)

• Severe depression, especially with suicidal ideation or psychosis

It is also used along with another antidepressant, taken by mouth, to treat depressive symptoms in adults with major depressive disorder (MDD) and suicidal thoughts or actions. Esketamine is in a class of medications called NMDA receptor antagonists. It works by changing the activity of certain natural substances in the brain.

Eskatamine is self-administered by patients under the supervision of a healthcare provider at our treatment center that is certified in the Risk Evaluation and Mitigation Strategy (REMS) Program.
