Inpatient treatment
If you or your loved one is having a mental health crisis or may harm themselves or others, inpatient care is recommended. Our care teams provide compassionate mental health care to get you to a safe and stable condition. Our inpatient program provides 24/7 care for adolescents, teens and adults. Your care team works with you and your family to create a care plan that's right for you. Our goal is to keep you safe, begin therapy, and transfer you to a lower level of care when you are ready.
Adult Inpatient Mental Health
Our expert-led treatment programs are designed for adults 18 and older who need a safe, supportive, structured environment to manage mental health symptoms that require a higher level of care and affect their daily lives and well-being. We focus on treating depression, bipolar disorder, borderline personality disorder, PTSD, and schizophrenia. Treatment options are also available for those with co-occurring substance use issues. Our doctor-led approach aims to build a collaborative relationship with patients and their loved ones, emphasizing the tools and resources needed to improve their quality of life and relationships.
Older Adult Inpatient Mental Health
Older adults may experience symptoms of depression and anxiety, often related to environmental and physical changes they face, which can lead to the need for inpatient care. Our mental health program is specifically designed for older adults and offers a comprehensive, compassionate approach, with psychiatric and primary care specialists addressing mind, body, and spirit. Additionally, we work closely with loved ones and providers of skilled care and assisted living facilities, providing a teamwork-oriented and thoughtful method for sustainable care.
Adolescent Inpatient Mental Health
Our inpatient program offers a safe, therapeutic, and structured environment for adolescents ages 12 to 18 experiencing mental health challenges such as depression, anxiety, mood disorders, aggression, and substance use. Our dedicated multidisciplinary team, including psychiatrists, nurses, social workers, therapists, educators, and expressive therapists, collaborates closely with patients and their families to create individualized and effective treatment plans. Eating Disorder Inpatient Treatment Program
The Eating Disorder Program provides intensive, 24/7 care in a safe and supportive environment for adolescents and adults with severe eating disorders, including anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, or binge eating disorder. Our highly structured program is designed for individuals who need medical stabilization, nutritional rehabilitation, and intensive therapy to reduce symptoms and regain their health.
The multidisciplinary team works closely with the patient and their family to develop an individualized treatment plan tailored to each person's medical, psychological, and nutritional needs. The program focuses on restoring physical health, establishing healthy eating habits, addressing underlying emotional issues, and developing sustainable coping strategies. The therapeutic environment encourages self-awareness, emotional healing, and long-term recovery.
Detox and Recovery
Our Detox and Recovery Program provides a safe, caring environment for individuals beginning their journey to break free from substance use. Created to address both the physical and emotional aspects of addiction, the program starts with medically supervised detox, ensuring 24/7 clinical care to safely and comfortably manage withdrawal symptoms. After detox, clients move to a partial hospitalization and/or intensive outpatient program that includes individual therapy, group counseling, and education on relapse prevention, healthy coping strategies, and life skills.
Focusing on dignity, compassion, and long-term healing, the program aims to establish a foundation for sustained sobriety, better mental health, and a return to meaningful living. Family support and aftercare planning are key parts, helping clients build a strong support network and stay connected to recovery resources after discharge.

Residential treatment center
For adults struggling with mental health disorders including obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), anxiety, or substance use, we have a residential treatment center. With this type of live-in care, you or your loved one will have 24/7 support, therapy, and medical supervision in a safe, therapeutic environment to help you achieve stability and long-term recovery.
Our residential treatment center, Ascension Illinois Foglia Family Foundation Residential Treatment Center, is located in Elk Grove Village, IL has programs for OCD and anxiety disorders, and addiction medicine. Our care team provides 24/7 supervision from a multispecialty team of therapists, psychiatrists, nurses, and more. You or your loved one will benefit from medication management and individual, group, and family therapy. The average length of stay is dependent on the program, but typically ranges from 20 to 60 days.

Partial hospitalization program
If you or your loved one need more intensive care for a mental health condition, but do not require 24/7 care, a partial hospitalization program may be recommended. This is an outpatient, group-based treatment program for those experiencing moderate to severe mental health symptoms. As part of this program, patients participate in group therapy, individual therapy, medication management, education and skill-building designed to improve their well-being. The partial hospitalization program is six hours per day, and takes place during the week.

Intensive outpatient program
Many patients transition from partial hospitalization to intensive outpatient as their symptoms improve and medications have been stabilized. The goal of intensive outpatient care is to help you or your loved one transition to outpatient, individual treatment. As part of intensive outpatient care, participants attend group-based treatment sessions for three hours per day three to four days during the week. We also provide education and skill-building. This program allows you or your loved one to continue their daily responsibilities, such as work, school, home life, and community involvement, while receiving structured care.
Aftercare planning focuses on your progress and your continued recovery. We work with you to provide support and ensure continuity of care aimed at reducing the risk of relapse.

Evening intensive outpatient program
Our evening intensive outpatient program offers flexible care for adults ages 18 and older, especially those who are balancing daytime responsibilities, such as work or school. This program offers supportive care options for individuals seeking help for mood disorders or substance use concerns.
Our evening program includes:
