Level II NICU care when you need it
At the Lee and Susan Moss Family NICU at Ascension Saint Thomas Rutherford, our neonatal specialists provide advanced care for premature, post-term, and sick newborns. We combine expertise with the latest technology to give our tiniest patients the strongest possible start. Our team is trained to diagnose, treat, and manage complex conditions while taking the time to explain your baby’s diagnosis, care plan, and answer all your questions.
Family-centered care close to home
The 22-bed Level II NICU is located on the same floor as the Saint Thomas Rutherford Birthing Center and offers:
- AngelEye Cameras that allow parents, grandparents, and other family members to securely view their baby when they can’t be at their side.
- Breastmilk Depot
- Feeding support including tube feedings, special formulas, donor breast milk, and central line access for medications
- Medical treatments such as IV antibiotics for infections and phototherapy for jaundice
- Monitoring: Advanced equipment to track vital signs.
- NICU pharmacist available for consultation to ensure the appropriate and safe use of medications
- Respiratory support using mechanical ventilation
- Stabilization to help infants before transferring to a higher level if necessary
- Temperature control for incubators or warmers to keep babies warm
Families visiting the NICU will find a welcoming and comfortable space to bond with your newborn and work closely with the care team throughout your NICU stay.
