Ascension Calumet Hospital is proud of the service the volunteer community provides for our healthcare ministry. Volunteers are vital in helping to create a warm and friendly environment, and are present in many departments throughout our hospital.
Steps to volunteer
Volunteers with Ascension Wisconsin help us deliver compassionate care. If you would like to volunteer, please review the following requirements.

Once you complete the application form, you will receive a confirmation email with additional forms to complete relating to confidentiality, your health assessment and background checks.
After we receive your application, required forms and check your references, you will be contacted by a member of Volunteer Services.
What to Expect Next
- Interview with Volunteer Services
- Discuss your areas of interest and possible assignments
- A complete criminal and caregiver background check
- Meet with an associate health nurse for a health check:
- A seasonal influenza vaccination (flu shot)
- A drug screen
- A blood draw to test for TB and for immunities to measles, mumps, rubella (MMR), varicella (chicken pox) and tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis (Tdap)
Complete Ascension Calumet orientation
Once your interview is complete, you may participate in an online orientation, or choose to complete it by viewing the video below, reading paper documents and completing a quiz that will be given to you at the time of your interview
