Supportive Cancer Care at Ascension St. Vincent's
Cancer Care Survivorship Programs
When you are first diagnosed, our cancer navigators are there to help guide you throughout this experience. From the time you begin treatment to the end of that treatment plan, our navigator is still there, now joined by a case manager and social worker. Together we are your advocates as you need information, need support and simply need someone to talk to.
Our social workers and care managers connect you and your family with local resources and provide support and counseling. If needed, they also help coordinate end-of-life experiences with dignity and respect through hospice care.
To talk to one of our cancer care advocates, call 904-308-7879.
This is a sampling of some of our support programs:
- Mind and Body Cancer Recovery Support Group -- share the challenges you face and how you have grown as a cancer survivor.
- Yoga classes for cancer survivors and caregivers; to register call 904-308-7879
- Kids Together Against Cancer (KTAC) is for children of adults with cancer. See how to start the conversation and learn more by calling 904-308-5822 or visiting KTAC
Compassionate Care for Women with Breast Cancer
Ascension St. Vincent’s recognizes the unique needs of women facing breast cancer. Compassionate cancer care is the cornerstone of cancer survivorship. Our certified medical oncology social worker gathers patients for informal evening conversations. They meet on the third Tuesday of the month at Ascension St. Vincent’s Riverside, Mary Virginia Terry Cancer Center. For more information about this event, call 904-308-7042.
