Specialty heart care close to home

Our doctors and care teams take the time to listen and understand your symptoms and health concerns. Specialty care programs and clinics include:

  • Complex disease management, including patients who have had both heart attack and stroke and cancer patients at risk for developing a heart problem
  • A-fib and other heart rhythm disorders
  • Heart failure management
  • Heart transplantation and ventricular assist devices (VAD)
  • Heart valve care
  • Pulmonary hypertension
  • Heart disease in women
  • Vascular health, including vein care and peripheral artery disease (PAD)

Our highly experienced cardiologists and vascular specialists provide a full range of care from managing high blood pressure, pulmonary hypertension or high cholesterol to preventing heart attack or stroke and providing innovative treatments for Afib, structural heart damage and advanced heart failure. Our interventional cardiologists specialize in minimally invasive angioplasty and stent placement procedures to remove plaque build-up and provide embolic protection.

Ascension Texas Cardiovascular Institute electrophysiologists (EP) diagnose and treat heart rhythm disorders, including A-fib and all causes of arrhythmia. The EP doctors perform minimally invasive ablation procedures to correct your irregular heartbeat. We also have EP clinics at five other locations.

When surgery is needed, our cardiac surgeons have the skills, experience, and state-of-the-art techniques to repair or replace a damaged heart valve. For information, call 512-324-9999 ext. 8156 or click here to learn more about our Heart Valve Clinic. These doctors are regional leaders in minimally invasive transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) and mitraclip procedures.

Specialized care for heart failure

Heart failure is a progressive condition. The cardiologists and heart transplant team provide highly coordinated care, with support services for you and your family. Even if you live far away, we provide services close to home to monitor your progress. After a cardiac event or surgery, the Ascension Seton Cardiac Rehabilitation care team provides education, supervised exercise therapies, and dietary guidance. Some patients are in our telehealth monitoring program so we can routinely check your vitals and your implanted device (pacemaker, the WATCHMAN device or a defibrillator).
