Specialty care for burns
The burn care team at Ascension St. Vincent Hospital - Adult and Pediatric Burn Center in Indianapolis, IN, specializes in the treatment of all types of minor and life-threatening burns. Our doctors, surgeons and care team provide advanced care options to improve your quality of life. We are a regional burn center for Indiana and verified by the American Burn Association (ABA), making it the only verified burn center in Indiana that provides care for both adults and children. Our care team also delivers advanced skin and wound healing options for your physical and emotional health.
The Adult and Pediatric Burn Center is co-located within Ascension St. Vincent Hospital’s Adult and Pediatric Level I Trauma Center and specialized ICUs, including the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, enabling families to stay together during critical moments such as house fires or motor vehicle accidents. In addition to patient care, the team provides education and training for Emergency Medical Services and emergency department staff on the initial management of burn injuries.
Services and programs
Our burn center caregivers include doctors, surgeons, nurses, dietitians, physical therapists, occupational therapists, respiratory therapists, social workers, psychologists and chaplains. The burn center includes an eight-bed mixed adult and pediatric unit with ICU and progressive care capability and 24/7 access to burn specialists, with direct consultation and transfers coordinated through Ascension St. Vincent Hospital Transfer Center. Outpatient clinic
The burn care team at Ascension St. Vincent Hospital - Adult and Pediatric Burn Clinic in Indianapolis, IN, specializes in the treatment of all types of minor and life-threatening burns. As an outpatient burn clinic, we offer same-day appointments, next-day follow-up for patients treated overnight, and weekly laser treatment for burn scars.
