Our center is ADA certified and offers Diabetes Education class, nutritional counseling, insulin management, gestational diabetes education :

• Diabetes (Type 1 and Type 2)
• Gestational Diabetes

These conditions can affect your metabolism, mood, sleep, blood pressure, and more. Your provider starts by listening to you, to better understand you and your health. Then, we work with you to create a care plan that’s right for you. Your care team may include diabetes educators, and registered dietitians. Your primary care doctor will provide care for insulin and diabetes management. 

Caring for your diabetes

Diabetes can show symptoms in many parts of your body, such as blurry vision or foot ulcers. As part of a national care team, your provider can connect you with specialists in heart care, nephrology, neurology, eye care, wound healing and more.

Nutrition counseling and diabetes education

If you or your family have a history of diabetes, you may be at higher risk for developing diabetes. Certified diabetes educators help you understand your symptoms and risk factors. We also provide nutrition counseling, information about insulin production, insulin therapy and other diabetes medications. We work with you to create a plan to help you live a healthy lifestyle. 

Ascension Saint Thomas Medical Partners Diabetes Center Hendersonville provides programs to help you learn more about diabetes and gain the skills needed to stay healthy, including:

• Following a meal plan and activity routine that’s right for you
• Learning about diabetes, glucose monitoring devices and apps
• Learning how diabetes can affect your stress levels and mood changes
• Understanding your body’s need for insulin, diabetes medications and healthy food choices

A doctor’s referral is needed to register for our program.
