Types of head and neck cancer
There are several types of head and neck cancer (sometimes called oral cancer), and they all have different treatment plans.

How we treat head and neck cancer
Your treatment for head and neck cancer may include medication, therapy or surgery may include:
Chemotherapy (chemo) is the use of strong medicines to treat cancer. It has been used for many years and is one of the most common treatments for cancer. In most cases, chemo damages the cancer cell's ability to grow and spread. Different groups of medicines work in different ways to fight cancer.
Our endocrinologists specialize in hormone therapy and endocrine diseases, providing advanced diagnostic and therapeutic care options to support recovery after surgery.
This type of surgery may be used for early-stage tumors, which means a tumor is small and hasn't spread.
Laser surgery is most often used to remove tumors in the larynx, or voice box.

Advanced radiation therapy is used to target and destroy cancer cells while preserving the surrounding healthy tissue.

Speech therapists deliver personalized therapies to help improve vocal cord recovery, swallowing and how your facial muscles respond.
This form of radiation precisely targets cancer cells, directing beams at the tumor from different angles while limiting exposure to surrounding tissue. Treatment is often given as one high-dose, but it can be repeated. This kind of radiation may cause fewer side effects.
