Cancer wellness and exercise program at Ascension Via Christi
The Cancer Wellness Program is part of your inpatient care at Ascension Via Christi.
Your care team includes an exercise physiologist that specializes in cancer rehabilitation. For many, regular exercise may help manage the effects of cancer treatment throughout their journey. Benefits of a regular exercise and wellness program may include:
- Better stress management and coping skills
- Healthier diet and overall quality of life
- Higher tolerance during chemotherapy
- Increased energy levels and less fatigue
- Increased strength, endurance and balance
- Lower risk of infection
- Reduced pain

Get a second opinion on your cancer diagnosis or care plan
When you are facing a new cancer diagnosis or are deciding on a surgical or therapeutic treatment plan, there’s a lot to think about. Our blood cancer specialists can provide a second opinion, based on our experience and as part of a national team.
Before your appointment, check with your insurance company to find out if a second opinion is covered. We can request your medical records on your behalf, so they can be shared with your care team before your arrival.
