Program overview

The Adult Reconstruction Fellowship provides advanced subspecialty training in the evaluation and management of degenerative joint disease, complex reconstructive procedures, and revision arthroplasty.

Program highlights include:

  • Faculty-to-fellow ratio of 3:1, which provides an exceptional level of individualized mentorship, direct surgical instruction, and faculty engagement
  • High-volume exposure to primary and revision hip and knee arthroplasty

The program also offers high-volume, diverse surgical experience. Recent fellows have collectively participated in more than 1,000 surgical cases during their fellowship year, including extensive exposure to both primary and revision arthroplasty. 

Fellows typically gain experience in approximately 200 revision total joint procedures while developing proficiency in complex reconstructive techniques and challenging revision scenarios. As the region's premier adult reconstruction training program, fellows gain experience in a broad range of cases that prepare them for both academic and private practice careers.

The Joint Replacement Center at Ascension Sacred Heart has been accredited for over a decade by The Joint Commission and is also accredited for Hip Fracture treatment. It recently received Advanced Certification for Hip and Knee Replacement. 

Ascension Sacred Heart has been recognized as one of the nation’s top 100 hospitals for advanced orthopedic care for10 years consecutive years.
