Personalized care for behavioral and mental health

Committed to behavioral and mental health care
Doctors and care teams at Ascension Illinois hospitals, mental health centers, behavioral health clinics, addiction treatment centers and residential programs focus on caring for the whole you – offering hope, treatment and recovery care options for depression and other mental illnesses.

Eating disorder programs
Your doctor and care team will help you understand what’s causing your eating disorder. And your doctor will work with you to help improve your physical and emotional health. We offer partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient and inpatient care.

Exposure and response prevention (ERP) therapy for veterans and others with PTSD
Therapists specialize in safely using ERP virtual reality programs to help individuals with PTSD overcome anxieties and fears, and reduce symptoms such as insomnia and flashbacks.

Long-standing commitment to community-based mental health
For more than 50 years, doctors and care teams at Ascension Illinois have been committed to improving access to behavioral and mental health services and housing programs throughout the Chicagoland area. That’s why we established a 24/7 (toll-free) Ascension Illinois Call Center, 855-383-2224. (Adults can call to get a mental health screening at no charge. Doctors and social services – use this form to make a referral.)

Managing stress during the transition to parenthood
Your OB-GYN care team works with your mental health care team to provide personalized care for anxiety or depression during pregnancy or after (also called perinatal mood and anxiety disorder). Your care team helps support you with coping skills and helps improve your bond with your baby. Treatment options include therapies that can help address your anxiety or depression, such as cognitive behavioral therapy, neuromodulation therapy and expressive therapies. You will also be connected to nutrition education, stress management techniques and parenting support groups.

Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) treatment
Ascension Illinois Behavioral Health provides obsessive-compulsive disorder treatment through intensive outpatient programs (IOP) and partial hospital programs (PHP) at Ascension Alexian Brothers Behavioral Health Hospital and an adult OCD residential program at the Foglia Family Foundation Residential Treatment Center.

Older adult behavioral health program
At Ascension Illinois, our behavioral health services and facilities are designed specifically to help older adults enjoy life as they age. We're here to help your parent or loved one manage depression, anxiety, physical and emotional adjustments, substance abuse, nutrition needs and more.

Specialists in crisis management and mental health emergencies
It’s OK to reach out for help to prevent self-harm or danger to others. Our goal is to help prevent and treat self-injury (such as attempted suicide) by delivering advanced care for one’s physical and mental health needs. We also provide care and support to caregivers of a person in crisis, to help all involved manage the stress in the relationship.

Treatment programs for substance use and addiction
Ascension Illinois Alexian Brothers Behavioral Health Hospital and Foglia Family Foundation Residential Treatment Center is licensed by the Illinois Department of Public Health. Board-certified addiction medicine doctors and care teams deliver advanced care in a judgment-free environment. Your care team focuses on abstinence, education and relapse prevention tools to help you improve your overall health and well-being.

Virtual care appointments
Ask about virtual visits as part of your ongoing care. Our doctors and behavioral therapists offer virtual visits so that you can see a doctor or therapist from a location that’s convenient for you.
