Types of minimally invasive gynecologic surgery

Minimally invasive gynecologic surgeons are board-certified and fellowship-trained gynecologists who have completed an additional two years of training in minimally invasive surgical techniques, including:

A type of surgery that allows a surgeon to examine the inside of your cervix and uterus using a thin tool called a hysteroscope that is inserted in the vagina. Hysteroscopies do not require any incisions and usually have a shorter recovery time.

A type of surgery that allows a surgeon to access the inside of your abdomen and pelvis without having to make a large incision. Laparoscopic surgery may lead to shorter hospital stays, less discomfort, and a shorter recovery period.

A type of surgery where a surgeon uses a computer to control small surgical tools attached to a robotic arm. Robotic surgery has the same advantages as advanced laparoscopic surgery and allows surgeons to operate with increased precision and accuracy while minimizing damage to surrounding tissues.
