Helping you manage your endocrine disorder
Fatigue, weakness, mood swings, weight changes, and changes in your blood sugar levels are signs of an endocrine disorder. Endocrinologists at Ascension Medical Group St. John Endocrinology have the expertise to diagnose and treat adults with endocrine disorders, including:
- Adrenal insufficiency and Addison's disease
- Cushing's syndrome
- Diabetes (Type 1, Type 2 and Type 1.5, also called latent autoimmune diabetes in adults)
- Gestational diabetes (diabetes during pregnancy)
- Graves' disease
- Growth hormone deficiency in pituitary gland
- Hashimoto's disease
- Osteoporosis
- Pituitary and adrenal disease
- Polycystic ovary syndrome
- Thyroid disease, including hypothyroidism and hyperthyroidism
These conditions can affect your metabolism, mood, sleep, blood pressure, and more. Your doctor starts by listening to you, to better understand you and your health. Then, we work with you to create a care plan that's right for you. Your care team may include support from clinical diabetes educators, nurses, and registered dietitians.
Comprehensive care for diabetes and other endocrine disorders
Diabetes can be hereditary or caused by diet, lifestyle choices and other health conditions, such as heart disease, high blood pressure and obesity. If left untreated over time, diabetes can affect your heart, blood vessels, eyes, kidneys and nerves. Talk to your doctor about new symptoms and if you've been diagnosed with other health conditions. We will also help connect you with diabetes educators and other specialists as needed to help manage and support your condition.
