Understanding how to care for wounds is important. When your wound isn’t healing as it should, our care team at Ascension Via Christi is here to help. We listen to understand you and your health concerns. Then, we work with you to create a care plan that’s right for you.
Our team at the wound care center in Wichita, Kansas specialize in treating complex, slow-healing wounds, including diabetic foot ulcers and leg ulcers. Bed-side imaging technology provides real-time information about the type and extent of the infection without having to wait for a culture. We also have technology that helps measure oxygen in the skin without having to wait for a sonogram study.
Your wound care team includes a fellowship-trained critical care doctor, infectious disease specialists, internal medicine doctors, a podiatrist, a nurse practitioner, a certified wound and ostomy nurse, registered nurses and wound technicians – all with specialized training in treating chronic wounds. Your care team will work with you to help manage your diet and medications throughout treatment.
We offer advanced wound-care, such as hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) to help promote healing. Other wound healing treatments include:
- Cellulitis therapy
- Compression therapy
- Negative pressure therapies
- Bioengineered tissues
- Infection management and prevention
