A cancer center designed for children and families
The addition of the Studer Family Children's Hospital Bear Family Foundation Pediatric Oncology Center for Hope expands the care we provide to children and families in Northwest Florida. Almost half of the 11,500 square-foot cancer center is devoted to a play area, family room, movie room and respite rooms to help your family rest. The expansion of the cancer center allows the children's hospital to offer more national clinical research trials, while keeping families close to home.
This center was made possible thanks to a $1.75 million donation from the Bear Family Foundation. With this donation, the Bear Family Foundation joins the legacy of Ascension Sacred Heart's first pediatric oncologist, Dr. Thomas G. Jenkins, in extending the children's hospital's impact in childhood cancer across the Gulf Coast region.
The Studer Family Children's Hospital's goal is to keep more children undergoing cancer treatment close to home and to provide the space and support services needed to give families a smoother and more comfortable experience.
