St. Vincent’s One Nineteen Aquatics Center
Water-based exercise is a low-impact activity that helps those dealing with chronic pain, limited motion and other orthopedic concerns. Activities may include water aerobics, water therapy, weights and swimming. At St. Vincent’s One Nineteen Aquatics Center, our fitness specialists will listen to you and provide a range of health and wellness services.
Our Aquatics Center includes a six-lane, 25-yard exercise pool where you can join a class or swim laps. We also provide a therapy pool and 12-seat whirlpool (scheduling up to three at a time) to help massage and relax your muscles after each workout. There are also saunas and steam rooms located in our upscale locker room area.(Sauna and Steam Room are temporarily closed).
All pool lanes are open during operating hours. Times are limited. Call 205-408-6544 to make a reservation.
Swim lessons & classes (Suspended until further notice)
We provide swim lessons to adults and children at any level. This includes both private and group classes. Our certified instructors focus on your needs to create a safe and welcoming environment.
Private lessons (30 minutes)
Member price: $185 for 8 lessons
Non-member price: $200 for 8 lessons
Parent and child aquatics class (Suspended until further notice)
Our Red Cross-certified classes promote water safety and encourage confidence in the pool. Lessons are available to parents and their children, ages six months to three years. Each session consists of eight classes 30 minutes in length. One child per adult only.
Availability is based on season and interest.

Kids swim club (Suspended until further notice)
Kids Swim Club is for moderate to advanced swimmers ages five to 14. Classes are divided into three levels to help build strength, endurance and technique. Pre-registration is required. New participants will be tested prior to entry. You must be able to swim the length of the pool and understand basic freestyle.
- Wednesdays and Fridays from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Swim Team - Magic City Aquatic League (M*C*A*L)
M*C*A*L is a U.S. swimming program open to children and teens ages five to 18 years. The program consists of four groups:
- C (beginner) - Introduces the basics of competitive strokes
- B (advanced beginner) - focuses on endurance and advanced techniques
- A (intermediate) and A+ (advanced) - Increases skills with more complex sets
Dry land training is offered for A-level swimmers ages 11 to 18. We also provide American Red Cross courses that include swim lessons, water safety, swim instructor and lifeguard certification.

Aquatic Exercise and Therapy
St. Vincent’s One Nineteen Aquatics Center provides water aerobics with deep and shallow water options. Deep-water aerobics are high-intensity exercises that help elevate your heart rate. Each session includes a warm-up plus strengthening and flexibility exercises. Shallow-water classes consist of land-based aerobic workouts in a low-impact water setting
