About Jonathan F Noel, MD
Jonathan F. Noel, MD, is a board-certified, experienced general surgeon at Ascension St. Vincent in Salem and Scottsburg, Indiana. He provides surgical care to children and adults. As a general surgeon, Dr. Noel performs many types of laparoscopic surgical procedures to treat appendicitis, colon and digestive tract disorders, gallbladder disease, hemorrhoids, hernias, and more.
Dr. Noel performs many office procedures including ultrasound-guided breast biopsies and aspirations. Additionally, he performs many soft tissue procedures and skin lesion surgeries in the office which are frequently more convenient and economical for patients.

In addition to general surgical procedures and minor procedures, Dr. Noel is an experienced endoscopist and performs EGDs with biopsies and dilations as well as colonoscopies with biopsies and polyp removal and hemorrhoid procedures.
He has practiced surgery in Salem since 1997. Before that, Dr. Noel completed a surgical residency at the University of Louisville. He was a solo practitioner who covered several area hospitals until he joined with Ascension St. Vincent hospitals over 10 years ago.
Dr. Noel is a member of the Washington County Board of Health. He is currently the president of the medical staff at the hospital and has rotated in and out of that role through the years.
Dr. Noel has been a fellow of the American College of Surgeons since he finished training.
When not caring for patients, Dr. Noel enjoys the outdoors, golfing and spending time with his family.
