A Florida native, Heather was born in Orlando and raised in Jacksonville. She earned her bachelor's degree in Exercise Science from the University of Florida, followed by her nursing degree from Jacksonville University, and later returned to the University of Florida to complete her Master of Science in Nursing and become a Family Nurse Practitioner.

When not caring for patients, Heather enjoys reading and has been a member of a book club for many years. She also enjoys traveling, gardening, and staying active through cycling and running, including participating in a 70.3 Half Ironman and relay events. She enjoys spending time with her husband, daughter, and their beloved shorkie, Ginger.
