About Andrea K Balthazar, MD
Andrea Balthazar, MD, MPH, is a board-certified urologist with subspecialty training in pediatric urology at Dell Children’s Medical Group Urology in Austin and Cedar Park, Texas. She specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of pediatric urologic conditions affecting infants, children, and adolescents, providing comprehensive care for both common and complex disorders of the urinary tract and reproductive system.
Dr. Balthazar treats a wide range of pediatric genitourinary conditions, including hydronephrosis, vesicoureteral reflux (VUR), hypospadias, undescended testes (cryptorchidism), recurrent urinary tract infections (UTIs), hydroceles, inguinal hernias, and other congenital and acquired urologic concerns. She has advanced expertise in complex genitourinary reconstruction for children with neurogenic bladder, spina bifida, and cloacal anomalies. Dr. Balthazar also offers minimally invasive and robotic-assisted pediatric urologic surgery, providing surgical options designed to support faster recovery and optimal long-term outcomes.
Dr. Balthazar is committed to delivering personalized, evidence-based care that restores function, preserves dignity, and maximizes long-term quality of life for every child she treats. Dr. Balthazar completed her urology residency training at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia, followed by a pediatric urology fellowship at Boston Children’s Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts. During her fellowship, she also earned a Master of Public Health from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. She is board-certified by the American Board of Urology and is an active member of the Society for Pediatric Urology, the American Urological Association, and the American Academy of Pediatrics.
When not caring for patients, Dr. Balthazar enjoys traveling, spending time with her family and dog, cooking, and practicing Pilates.
