He went on to complete his medical degree at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. During this time he received certification of completing the Wisconsin Academy of Rural Medicine (WARM) program. This training focused on injuries and conditions specific to patients in a rural setting, including care of farm injuries and those from other outdoor hazards. Dr. Flannery completed his orthopedic residency training program at the University of Wisconsin Hospitals and Clinics. His areas of interest are joint replacement, including anterior hip replacement, sports injuries, fracture care, pediatrics as well as hand and foot specific conditions.
When not caring for patients, Dr. Flannery and his wife, who works as a pediatrician in the area, enjoy spending time with their two daughters outdoors, watching sports, and being active in the community.
