Daniel Shmorhun, MD, is an independent pediatric cardiologist with Dell Children's Pediatric and Congenital Cardiology in Austin, Kyle, Cedar Park, College Station, Georgetown, and Waco, Texas. He specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of congenital heart disease in patients of all ages ranging from developing babies (fetus), newborns and children to adults. Dr. Schmorhun cares for those with many different heart conditions, including: arrhythmia and other irregular heartbeats, cardiomyopathy, congenital heart disease, heart murmur, hyperlipidemia, long QT syndrome, and others. Dr. Schmorhun specializes in pediatric electrophysiology, in which he evaluates and treats heartbeat abnormalities (arrhythmias) and performs heart catheterization procedures, such as catheter ablation, pacemaker implantation, and defibrillator implantation.

Dr. Shmorhun is an affiliate faculty member in both the Dell Medical School Department of Surgery and Perioperative Care and the Dell Medical School Department of Pediatrics. Dr. Shmorhun served in the U. S. Navy as a pediatric electrophysiologist until 2012, when he joined Children's Cardiology Associates in Austin.

Dr. Shmorhun is a member of the Pediatric and Congenital Electrophysiology Society and the American Academy of Pediatrics.
