About Rob Alan Fuller, MD
Surgical Specialties: Dr. Fuller epitomizes the Capital Surgeons Group commitment to the advancement of surgery through the application of new techniques. In addition to his training as a general surgeon, he has completed an additional two-year fellowship in surgical oncology at the City of Hope National Medical Center. During this competitive, accredited fellowship, Dr. Fuller received extensive training in new surgical techniques, such as radiofrequency ablation (RFA), hepatic artery infusion pump placement, and multi-modality treatment of many types of cancer. Dr. Fuller is Austin's first surgical oncologist. He has applied his surgical skills and advanced training to the treatment of cancer by combining laparoscopic surgical techniques to pioneer new, effective ways to treat tumors. Dr. Fuller performed the first laparoscopic (RFA) of liver tumors in Austin and instructs other physicians in the procedure. Education and Proefessional Associations: Dr. Fuller received his Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin, and received his Medical Degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School at Dallas. His general surgery internship and residency were both at the Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, and he completed his Fellowship in Surgical Oncology from the City of Hope National Medical Center in Duarte, California.
