Samuel D. Leonard, MD, BBA, is a board-certified, independent vascular surgeon at Ascension Seton and at the Institute for Cardiovascular Health in Austin, Texas. Dr. Leonard provides treatment of a broad spectrum of vascular disease with a special interest in fenestrated and branched endovascular aortic repair, thoracoabdominal aortic aneurysms and dissections, carotid artery disease and stroke prevention, dialysis access, nutcracker syndrome, and peripheral artery disease.

Dr. Leonard completed a residency in integrated vascular surgery at the McGovern Medical School at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, where he served as chief resident under the tutelage of Dr. Hazim Safi and Dr. Gustavo Oderich. Afterwards he completed an advanced fellowship in Complex Endovascular Aortic Surgery at the Hospital Marie-Lannelongue in Paris, France under the instruction of Dr. Stephan Haulon, a world-renowned leader in minimally invasive complex aortic arch and thoracoabdominal aortic surgery.

Dr. Leonard is dedicated to providing committed and comprehensive care to his patients. He serves as an investigator on multiple national aortic endograft trials and has authored numerous peer-reviewed journal articles. Dr. Leonard is a member of the Society of Vascular Surgery, Travis County Medical Society, and Vascular and Endovascular Surgical Society (VESS).

When not caring for patients, Dr. Leonard enjoys live music, playing guitar, and spending time with his wife and their dog.
