About P David D Margolis, MD

P. David Margolis, MD, is a cardiac electrophysiologist at Ascension Via Christi in Wichita, Kansas. Dr. Margolis specializes in diagnosing and treating atrial fibrillation (AFib), a type of arrhythmia in which the heartbeat is irregular, either too fast or too slow. Other symptoms may include chest pain, sweating, fatigue, shortness of breath, and weakness. He starts by listening to better understand you and uses diagnostic testing to help determine the cause of your irregular heartbeat. Then, Dr. Margolis provides non-surgical treatments to correct arrhythmias, restore normal heart rhythms, and help prevent stroke.

Dr. Margolis performs complex pacemaker procedures, defibrillator implantation and management, lead extractions, diagnostic electrophysiology testing, catheter ablations, tilt table testing, implantable cardioverter-defibrillator (ICD) procedures, cardiac resynchronization therapy (BiV pacing), and implanted device clinic and remote monitoring services.

Whether you have new symptoms or want to talk with a heart doctor about a heart rhythm diagnosis, Dr. Margolis is here for you. He performs minimally invasive cardiac procedures, including cardioversion, electrical cardioversion, maze procedures, pacemaker implantation, radiofrequency ablation, catheter ablation, and cardiac resynchronization therapy. He also implants heart devices, such as WATCHMAN™, to help restore a normal heartbeat.

Dr. Margolis wrote the articles “Keeping Hearts in Rhythm” for the November 2009 issue and “Device Indications for Heart Failure” for the December 2009 issue of MDNews. He was also featured in the February 2010 cover story of MDNews highlighting what is now Ascension Medical Group Via Christi’s cardiology department.
