Vanessa Yium, MD, is a board-certified obstetrician and gynecologist (OB-GYN) at Ascension Medical Group Seton Women's Health in Austin, Texas. An Austin native, Vanessa Yium MD, joined Women Partners in Health in 2003. She currently serves on the Medical Executive Committee, the women's perinatal practice performance committee, and is the Gynecology section chief. She enjoys caring for women throughout all phases of life from adolescence, through childbearing, and into menopause. She appreciates and advocates for alternative and holistic treatments, and incorporates them into her patient care, and also uses minimally invasive surgical techniques in addition to typical surgical procedures.

Dr. Yium is fluent in Spanish which helos ensure the Austin populations she serves are heard and understood. Her caring and compassion for people is shown through in her work and dedication to her patients. Dr. Yium takes the time to listen and understand her patients. Dr. Yium earned a BA in History with highest honors at The Colorado College in Colorado Springs, CO. She attended medical school at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston where she was a member of Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society and completed her residency at Parkland in Dallas, where she was chief resident.

Her education, training and background affords her the ability to care for patients with a wide variety of gynecological and obstetrical needs while providing guidance and information to allow them to understand their bodies. Dr. Yium enjoys spending time with her husband, two children and very energetic dog. She also loves running, cooking, yoga, skiing, hiking and traveling with her family.
