About Joel T Adler, MD
Joel T. Adler, MD, MPH, is an independent, board-certified abdominal transplant surgeon at the Abdominal Transplant Center, a clinical partnership between Ascension Seton and UT Health Austin. He specializes in kidney and pancreas transplantation and is dedicated to helping patients navigate every stage of the transplant journey with personalized, compassionate care.
In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Adler serves as an assistant professor in the Department of Surgery and Perioperative Care at Dell Medical School at The University of Texas at Austin.
Dr. Adler earned his medical degree from the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health and a Master of Public Health from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. He completed his residency in general surgery at Massachusetts General Hospital and a fellowship in abdominal transplantation at the University of Wisconsin.
His clinical interests include adult and pediatric kidney and pancreas transplantation, as well as peritoneal dialysis access and related care. Dr. Adler’s research focuses on expanding access to transplantation for historically underserved populations through technology-enabled solutions and innovative approaches to transplant evaluation and waitlisting.
