Dr. Ekambaram has received numerous accolades throughout her career. In 2014, she was honored with the Sydney M Borowsky Comprehensive Physician Award and the Dr. William & Margaret E. Menin Humanistic Sensitivity Award, both from Einstein Medical Center. Her contributions to education were recognized in 2018 with the Faculty Teacher of the Year Award in Pediatrics and the Mother Baby Unit Caring Physician Colleague Award, also from Einstein Medical Center.
Dr. Ekambaram's research focus includes diagnostic and antimicrobial stewardship, especially in children with medical complexity and immunocompromising conditions. She has been acknowledged with the National Institutes of Health (NIH) T-32 Training Grant Award for the Pharmacoepidemiology Research Training Grant Program, the Pediatric Infectious Diseases Society (PIDS) Antimicrobial Stewardship Fellowship Award, and the Pediatric Infectious Diseases Transplant Network (PIDTRAN) Early Career Research Award.
