John B Smoot, MDOrthopedic Surgery in Austin, TX

Dr. Smoot received his BA degree in Human Performance and Health Sciences from Rice University where he played Division I football. He graduated from Southwestern Medical School, and completed both his internship and residency at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center in Oklahoma City. Dr. Smoot completed a knee fellowship and a foot and ankle fellowship in Sydney, Australia. Dr. Smoot is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. Dr. Smoot also is sub specialty certified in Sports Medicine. He is the Secretary-Treasurer of the Texas Orthopedic Association, and a member of the American Medical Association, the American Orthopedic Foot and Ankle Society, the Texas Medical Association and the Travis County Medical Society. Dr. Smoot is a consultant to the University of Texas Woman's Athletic Department and is the team physician for the Austin Wranglers. He is also the Medical Director of Austin Surgical Hospital.
